Knee CARs: Tibial Rotation

Knee Capsule Stretch (internal rotation)
Knee Internal Rotation
Target: Inside knee joint capsule
While seated, grab the outside aspect of the foot with the opposite hand. Use the other hand to apply a inside to outside force at the distal thigh.
PASSIVE STRETCH
Into inward tibial rotation

Outward shin rotation against the resistance of the hand

Inward tibial rotation
Note: Ensure that rotation is occurring through the Knee joint and not the Ankle joint that should remain locked.

Knee External Rotation
Target: Inside knee joint capsule
While seated, grab the inside of the foot with the same side hand. Use the other hand to apply an outside to inside force at the distal thigh.
